~ 1960s Mod shift paper dress by Scott Paper Company ~ Rare red paisley bandana dress is one of the first 2 patterns issued ~ Pop Art dress ~ Go Go dress ~ Sleeveless pull over style ~ 2 front pockets ~ Has been altered and lined in white pellon ~ Good condition In 1966, the Scott Paper Company introduced the world to paper dresses, a type of disposable fad fashion. Paper dresses were designed in a simple, shift dress style with A- shaped mini skirt. They became a short-lived viral sensation! Paper Dresses Were a Short-Lived Trend Even though they were billed as the ‘fabric of the future’ and the ‘new standard material’, the paper dress trend didn’t last long. By the end of the decade, paper garments had run their course. Fashion styles were changing and moving away from the mod mini dress. Plus the environmental awareness of the 1970s ushered in a new way of viewing disposable, throw-away items, like paper dresses. There’s just one thing to be said about paper dresses…they were fun while they lasted.
